What is Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) and can I get it?

Buy Now Pay Later is an exclusive offer that allows UK Tesco Credit Card holders to get 0% for 6 months on selected purchases over £250 from Tesco direct. Buy Now Pay Later applies to selected items only, available via Tesco direct online and the Tesco direct catalogue.

This offer is only available to Tesco Credit Card customers who hold a current, UK Credit Card issued by Tesco Bank, with sufficient remaining credit to cover the full cost of their order. Buy Now Pay Later is not available to Tesco Business Credit Card holders & Tesco Ireland Credit Card holders.

How Buy Now Pay Later works

Here's an example of how Buy Now Pay Later works:

• You buy a sofa with your Tesco Credit Card at a price of £450.
• Collect points automatically from Clubcard.
• Plus collect extra Clubcard points because you've paid with your Tesco Credit Card.*
• No payments towards your Buy Now Pay Later balances for 6 months. Your minimum
  payment on your credit card is not changed.

Terms and conditions

The Buy Now Pay Later 0% for 6 months offer applies to selected items over £250 from Tesco direct purchased using your Tesco Credit Card.

At the end of your Buy Now Pay Later period, the outstanding balance is treated as a normal purchase balance and charged at your standard purchase interest rate. Your standard purchase interest rate may vary depending on your current Tesco Credit Card purchase rate. If you decide to close your Tesco Credit Card account, your outstanding BNPL period will also be cancelled.

* Customers must have available credit, minimum spend required. Extra points not applicable to the Tesco Bonus Credit Card.

How to take advantage of Buy Now Pay Later?

Please note that to take advantage of the offer you must have sufficient credit to cover the full cost of your order and pay with an approved UK Tesco Credit Card.*

1. Add the product to your basket and proceed to checkout as usual.
2. At the checkout you will be asked to tick a box to opt into Buy Now Pay Later, this will apply to your whole order. Carefully read the details of the offer before doing this. If you return to your basket from the checkout page Buy Now Pay Later will be removed.
3. Enter your Tesco Credit Card details and confirm your order as usual.
4. On your next credit card statement your Buy Now Pay Later transaction will be listed separately in the summary of balances section at the bottom of your statement. Your minimum monthly payment amount is not changed.

You can also order over the phone by calling 0800 600 4411 (Typetalk 18001 0800 600 4411). A Tesco member of staff will let you know if BNPL is available on the item you have chosen.

* Buy Now Pay Later is not available to Tesco Business Card holders or Tesco Ireland Credit Card holders.

Will my BNPL transaction be included when calculating my monthly minimum payments?

No. For the duration of the offer period, your monthly payments will be calculated excluding any BNPL purchases. So if you only have a BNPL transaction on your balance you will have no minimum repayments to make.

Please note you must always make any minimum payment quoted on your statement.

Can I pay off my BNPL purchase before the interest free credit period expires?

Yes, you can pay off all or part of your BNPL balance at any stage before the BNPL period expires, with no penalties. You can do this by making an over payment to your account; paying off your full balance amount and your BNPL balance amount. You can also pay all or part of the BNPL balance off with a debit card, at any time, by calling 0845 300 7183 (Typetalk: 18001 0845 300 7183)

How can I pay off my Buy Now Pay Later purchase?

You can pay off all or part of your BNPL balance with your debit card by calling 0845 300 7183 (Typetalk on 18001 0845 300 71 83) and specifically requesting to do so at any time and for no additional fee. It will take 5 working days for your BNPL payments to reach your account. Payments will reduce the Buy Now Pay Later balances nearest to expiry first. Standard monthly payments to your account will first be applied to reduce any other balances on your account, before reducing your Buy Now Pay Later balances.

If I normally clear all my balance in full every month by Direct Debit, will my BNPL purchases be automatically cleared each month?

No. Your Buy Now Pay Later balance will not be cleared until the end of the offer period. At the end of this period the outstanding balance is treated as a normal purchase balance and will be taken from your account at the next Direct Debit date.

Please ensure you have sufficient funds to cover the full Direct Debit amount.

How will I be able to identify BNPL balances on my Credit Card statement?

Your Tesco Credit Card statements will show your Buy Now Pay Later balances separately within the summary of balances section at the bottom of your statement.

Will I be reminded when the BNPL period is due to expire?

Yes. You will get a reminder in your credit card statement two months and one month prior to your 0% interest period running out.

What happens when the BNPL period is finished?

At the end of a Buy Now Pay Later period, the outstanding balance will automatically be treated as a normal purchase balance and charged at your standard purchase interest rate. The amount will, from then on, be included in your minimum payment calculation and will no longer be displayed separately in your summary of balances.

Is the BNPL offer open to any Credit Cardholders?

No. The offer is only available for customers who hold a current UK Tesco Credit Card with sufficient remaining credit to cover the full cost of their order. This includes customers who hold the following cards:

• Tesco Clubcard Credit Card
• Tesco Platinum/World Credit Card
• Tesco Classic Credit Card
• Tesco Bonus Credit Card

Excluding Tesco Business Credit Card or Tesco Ireland Credit Card holders.
